About the institute:
Andijan State Medical Institute was established in Andijan in 1955. Since it was the only higher education institution in the Fergana Valley in the field of medicine, which was very necessary for that time, a lot of work was done to quickly restore the institute and establish its activities. Andijan State Medical Institute, which is the highest institution for doctors of our country, has special merits of dedicated compatriots and skilled doctors such as Yusuf Otabekovich Otabekov, Rahim Muhammedovich Nurmuhammedov, Satkul Usmanovich Dzumbayev. Today's achievements of the institute, which has followed the path of long-term development and progress, are recognized worldwide. The university was established in 1955 for the purpose of training of final medical personnel and today it has reached its central position with 21 years of experience. Today, at the institute, the faculties of treatment, pediatrics, dentistry, as well as professional education, higher nursing, pharmacy, medical prevention and bachelor's degrees and 29 master's degrees are being prepared. Also, training courses for doctors of valley regions have been launched at the faculty of medical training and retraining.
The institute has 56 departments, with a total staff of 533 professors, of which 36 are doctors of science (14 of them have the title of professor), 130 are candidates of science (104 of them have the title of associate professor). The scientific potential of the institute is 31.7%.
The institute has 4 faculties of medical treatment, pediatrics, dentistry and advanced training and retraining of doctors, 7 undergraduate educational areas of treatment work, pediatric work, dental work, vocational education, higher nursing work, medical preventive work and pharmacy. directions, the educational process is organized in 29 master's specialties. Based on the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 20, 2017 PQ 2909, from the 2019-2020 academic year, 2 new specializations for the master's degree were established:

5A 510126 Pharmacology.
Institute grants:
Grants are available at the institute. State grants are allocated to talented students who have obtained high marks in the entrance exams. These grants are awarded for one academic year only, and students admitted on the basis of a contract have the opportunity to study the grant in subsequent academic years.
Entry requirements: Participation in state exams organized by BMB(DTM).
Institute scholarship:
Students studying on the basis of a state grant:
The basic amount of the scholarship is paid in the 1st semester of the first year;
- Starting from the next semester, depending on the results of the previous semester, the scholarship will be awarded and paid in the following order:
- Students with excellent performance in all subjects will be paid with a 20% increase in the basic amount of the scholarship;
- Scholarships will not be awarded to students who satisfactorily mastered 30% or more of their general subjects, i.e. scored less than 71 points. With the exception of orphans and children deprived of parental care and students with group 1 and 2 disabilities;
- All other students receiving education on the basis of a state grant will be paid the basic amount of the scholarship.
Scholarships are awarded and paid to students studying on the basis of a payment contract in the following order:
- Contract students can study with or without a scholarship;
- The basic amount of the stipend will be paid to those under the contract, regardless of the mastery rate.
- The stipend will be assigned and paid after the contract amount has been paid.
Scholarships are paid for students with group I and II disabilities in the following order:
- Students with group I and II disabilities are assigned and paid a stipend 50% higher than the base amount of the stipend, regardless of whether they study on a grant or a contract;
- Students who belong to the group of orphans and children deprived of parental care, who are fully supported by the state, are assigned and paid a scholarship in the basic amount of the scholarship.

Andijan State Medical Institute has 4 student residences with a capacity of 1554. Among them, there are 3 student residences of the institute with a capacity of 1,054 and 1 student residence of 500 places on the basis of public-private partnership.
