About the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED):

The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) was established on September 23, 1992, and included in the system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The university specializes in the following areas:

• International Economics and Management;
• International Relations and Political Science;
• International Public and Private Law.

The university is a leading higher education institution that carries out high-level fundamental and scientific-practical research in the above-mentioned areas, as well as trains, re-trains, and enhances the qualification of specialists and scientific-pedagogical personnel.

Currently, UWED has four faculties:

• International Relations;
• International Economics and Management;
• International Law.
• Political Science

University grants:

Grants are available at the "University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED). State grants are awarded to talented students who have obtained high marks in the entrance exams. These grants are awarded for one academic year only, and students admitted on the basis of a contract have the opportunity to study on the basis of a grant in the following academic years.

University Scholarship:

Students studying on the basis of a state grant:

The basic amount of the scholarship is paid in the 1st semester of the first year;

- Starting from the next semester, depending on the results of the previous semester, the scholarship will be awarded and paid in the following order:

- Students with excellent performance in all subjects will be paid with a 20% increase in the basic amount of the scholarship;

- Scholarships will not be awarded to students who satisfactorily mastered 30% or more of their general subjects, i.e. scored less than 71 points. With the exception of orphans and children deprived of parental care and students with group 1 and 2 disabilities;

- All other students receiving education on the basis of a state grant will be paid the basic amount of the scholarship.

Scholarships are awarded and paid to students studying on the basis of a payment contract in the following order:

 - Contract students can study with or without a scholarship;

 - The basic amount of the stipend will be paid to those under the contract, regardless of the mastery rate.

 - The stipend will be assigned and paid after the contract amount has been paid.

Scholarships are paid for students with group I and II disabilities in the following order:

 - Students with group I and II disabilities are assigned and paid a 50% higher stipend than the base amount of the stipend, regardless of whether they study on a grant or a contract;

 - Students who belong to the group of orphans and children deprived of parental care, who are fully supported by the state, are assigned and paid a scholarship in the basic amount of the scholarship.

Entry requirements: Participation in state exams organized by BMB(DTM).

Bachelor's Degree:

For the academic year 2023/2024, applicants can submit their documents online from June 5, 2023, to July 5, 2023, for admission to the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. Details about diplomatic quotas and tuition fees can be found here.

In the 2022-2023 academic year, the university has a total of 1,968 students (bachelor's and master's levels), including 26 international students from Canada, Japan, China, Korea, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan. The university faculty consists of 160 individuals, including 17 professors and 17 doctors of science.

Joint Programs in Diplomacy:

UWED cooperates with 4 leading European universities: the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain), Lund University (Sweden), the University of Padova (Italy), and "I. Cuza" University (Romania). Through the "Erasmus+" educational programs, many UWED students have the opportunity to study at partner universities, and international students can participate in exchange programs during their studies at UWED.

The University of World Economy and Diplomacy has established partnership relations with more than 60 leading foreign universities through 24 memoranda, 22 agreements, 12 contracts, and 2 protocols.

UWED Dormitory:

The UWED student dormitory was established in 1992 to provide accommodation for university and lyceum students. The dormitory consists of 2 buildings and can accommodate up to 800 students. Currently, 550 students reside in the dormitory, including 98 lyceum students.

• Organizing events related to cultural and historical holidays and traditions that are of spiritual and educational importance, increasing students' social and political activities, raising their legal culture, and promoting sports and health;
• Establishing a self-government system for students;
• Conducting general meetings with the participation of the UWED dormitory manager, faculty deans, and mentors to prepare for the new academic year;
• Conducting meetings with newly admitted students, familiarizing them with the rules of the dormitory;
• Organizing meetings to ensure compliance with the current "Internal Regulations" for dormitory residents;
• Ensuring compliance with the "Passport System" rules and conducting awareness-raising activities;
• Reviewing and approving the composition of mentors and their work schedules for the new academic year;
• Equipping the dormitory rooms with necessary materials;
• Ensuring compliance with and monitoring the internal regulations by dormitory residents.
