Oil and gas works

Petroleum oil is a liquid fossil fuel, a substance consisting of a complex mixture of organic compounds, mainly hydrocarbons. Above the earth's surface, they are located mainly in porous or grayish rocks (sands, sandstones, limestones)underground domes at a depth of 1.2-2.0 km. The extracted oil is mainly extracted from drilled wells. The oil industry is a branch of heavy industry. It includes exploration of oil and gas fields, drilling of mining wells, extraction of oil and associated gas with oil, processing of petroleum gas, shipment of oil through pipelines.

The gas industry is an industry for the extraction of natural gas from the bowels of the earth, the production of artificial gas from solid and liquid fuels, pumping gas through pipelines for the population and industrial supply, and the production of chemical products from gas. The main type of gas is combustible natural gas, which is contained in porous rocks of the earth's crust at a depth of 200-7000 m.
