Philology and language teaching: English

This direction allows students to study the English language in depth theoretically and practically, master the methodology of its teaching, language system, intercultural communication, the basics of translation, as well as disciplines such as linguistics and literary studies. The main goal of the direction is to train highly qualified specialists who have a perfect command of modern English, are able to teach it, and are competitive and competent in the international arena. During their studies, students develop teaching methods, communicative competencies, the use of information technologies, and critical thinking skills.

Where do graduates work?

Graduates who successfully complete this direction can work in the following areas as qualified philologists and educators who can not only study but also teach English:

— School and lyceum teacher: teaches English in secondary education institutions, works with students using modern methodologies.

— Teacher or lecturer in higher education institutions: teaches philology or language teaching at universities and institutes.

— Trainer in language courses and training centers: conducts intensive English courses at independent language training centers.

— Translator or editor of written texts: translates or edits documents, articles and other materials in international organizations, publishing houses or companies.

— Tour guide: works as an English-speaking guide in travel agencies.

— Language specialist in media centers and publishing houses: creates, translates, and analyzes English-language content.

— Correspondence specialist or correspondence specialist in international companies: works in English in organizations operating in foreign cooperation.

Also, specialists with a deep knowledge of English have the opportunity to study abroad, conduct scientific research, participate in international projects or teach on online platforms.

Tests consist of English and native language subjects, as well as logic (IQ) tests.

Duration of study: lasts 4 years.
