About the direction
This direction provides students with in-depth knowledge and practical skills in the theoretical foundations of the Uzbek language, such branches of linguistics as phonetics, morphology, syntax, stylistics, as well as Uzbek literature, teaching methods and modern pedagogical technologies. The main goal of the direction is to train philologists and educators who have excellent knowledge of the state language, effective methods of teaching it, creative and critical thinking, and competitive. During their education, students receive in-depth training in the methodological foundations of teaching their native language, linguistic analysis, development of written and oral speech, working with text, and the formation of cultural competencies.
Where do graduates work?
Specialists who have completed this direction can widely participate in teaching the Uzbek language, conducting scientific research, and cultural and spiritual activities. They can work in the following positions and areas:
— Teacher of the Uzbek language and literature: teaches in schools, lyceums and colleges, higher educational institutions.
— Linguist or literary scholar: conducts research on the Uzbek language and literature in scientific institutions, writes articles, textbooks.
— Author of textbooks and methodological guides: develops educational tools.
— Editor or publisher: works on texts in publishing houses, newspapers, magazines or online publications, makes philological analysis and corrections.
— Translator: translates scientific, artistic, technical texts from other languages into the Uzbek language (or vice versa).
— Media language specialist: works as a specialist in language culture, stylistics and speech culture in the media.
— Methodist in cultural centers and creative organizations: participates in projects in the field of language, literature, spirituality and culture.
Also, specialists who have mastered the Uzbek language in depth can expand their activities by teaching their native language to foreigners, giving online lessons, and creating language-related content on the Internet.
Tests: in native language and English, as well as logic (IQ) tests.
