Philology and language teaching: Russian

This direction introduces students to the theoretical foundations, practical application, literature and teaching methods of the Russian language. The main goal of the direction is to train philologists-pedagogues who have a thorough command of the Russian language, modern methodological skills in teaching it, and are able to develop language and intercultural communication. During their studies, students will gain in-depth knowledge of linguistics, literary studies, translation theory, communicative approach, interactive teaching methods and the use of information technologies.

Where do graduates work?

Graduates who successfully complete this direction can work in the following areas, depending on their specialization and interests:

— School and lyceum teacher: teaches Russian in secondary education institutions, increases students' motivation to learn the language.

— Teacher at universities and institutes: teaches Russian language and literature, translation practice or linguistics at higher education institutions.

— Trainer at language training centers and courses: teaches classes at centers specializing in teaching the Russian language.

— Translator: translates official documents, scientific texts, literary works or business correspondence into Russian or into languages ​​other than Russian.

— Editor or lexical editor: works on texts in publishing houses, media or online platforms.

— Specialist who knows Russian in the labor market: works in international organizations, embassies, foreign companies or in the tourism sector.

— Guide or tour guide: introduces tourists to historical and cultural monuments with good knowledge of Russian.

Also, specialists who have a deep knowledge of Russian can successfully work in areas such as international scientific activity, studying and working abroad, providing online education or creating content.

Tests: Russian language and mother tongue, as well as logic (IQ) tests.

Duration of study: 4 years.
