About the direction
Marketing and communications is a field of study that deals with effectively marketing products or services, building brands, and establishing and developing relationships with consumers. Drawing on economics, psychology, social sciences, and creative design, this field teaches students the skills to create marketing strategies, conduct advertising and PR campaigns, and communicate effectively with consumers. The field of marketing and communications is of great importance in various industries, such as digital marketing, social media management, brand management, and advertising.
The curriculum includes market analysis, advertising strategies, social media marketing, brand management, understanding consumer behavior, communication psychology, and content creation. The Bachelor of Science in Marketing & Communication at AUT is aligned with academically equivalent undergraduate programs at Arizona State University (ASU), particularly the W. P. Carey School of Business’s Bachelor of Science in Marketing, and is complemented by communication and professional communication coursework from across ASU.
