Otorhinolaryngology, also known as laryngootorhinology (LOR), is a field of study that focuses on diseases of the ear, nose, throat, and related structures. It includes the study of auditory physiology, its impairments and associated diseases (audiology), voice physiology, its changes and the diseases that cause these changes (phoniatics), hearing loss and its causes (surdology). Otorhinolaryngology also includes the study of the relationship between various parts of the inner ear (mainly the labyrinth) and their connection in both normal and pathological conditions, which is known as otoneurology.
