About the direction
Downhill skiing is a specific type of skiing that involves descending slopes using ski boots. It includes slalom (quickly descending the slope with artificial or natural obstacles), giant slalom, speed skiing, and freestyle competitions. The rules of the sport were first introduced by A. Lunn in the early 20th century. The first competition took place in Switzerland in 1923. Since 1930, world championships have been regularly held. Starting from 1936, it became part of the Winter Olympic Games program.
