Translation Theory and Practice: French Language

The program “Translation Theory and Practice: French Language” trains students in the theory and methods of translating from and into French. Students also study text analysis, terminology, stylistics, and develop a deep understanding of the language’s lexical and grammatical features, as well as practical skills in translating texts from various fields (scientific, literary, official-legal).

Students additionally learn communicative strategies, context-sensitive translation techniques, and methods for adapting texts linguistically and culturally, essential for professional translators. This program provides in-depth knowledge of the French language and the practical skills necessary to work as a professional translator.
