Tourism (agrotourism)

Agrotourism includes any agricultural operation or activity that attracts visitors to a farm or field.

In a 2018 article published in the Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Community development, agrotourism activities are divided into one or more categories: Direct sales to the consumer (e.g. farms, u-pick), agricultural education (e.g. visiting a school farm), hospitality (overnight stay on a farm), recreation (for example, hunting, horse riding) and entertainment (for example, haymaking, harvesting). Most of the agrotourists spent their time on farms, picking fruits or caring for animals; Others can walk through the corn maze or live on the farm, helping with housework, farming or animal husbandry.
