Journalism ethics and standards include principles of ethics and practice that apply to journalists. This part of media ethics is known as the professional "code of ethics" and "laws of journalism" of journalism. Basic standards and laws are commonly found in professional journalism associations and private print, television, radio, and Internet publications. Around the world, there are about 400 laws covering journalistic activity. Of course, these are important ethical standards for a journalist in the process of collecting, editing and disseminating news information to the public. Like many broader ethical systems, journalistic ethics also includes the principle of confidentiality. This principle may include keeping confidential certain details, such as the names of minors, the names of crime victims, or personal information that is not materially relevant to the text of the message, while maintaining respect for vulnerable groups, bearing in mind that disclosure of personal information may harm someone's reputation. may harm or endanger them
