About the direction
The collection of philosophical views and theories that emerged in the region of Asia is called Eastern philosophy. Eastern philosophy includes Indian, Chinese, Persian, Japanese, Korean, and Central Asian philosophies. Sometimes it also includes Arabian and Roman philosophies, although they are also related to Western philosophy. The earliest philosophical teachings originated in India, China, Central Asia, and Greece and then spread to Western countries. In India, philosophical schools are divided into two types: those that accept the Vedas and those that reject them. The former includes schools such as Vedanta, Yoga, Vaysheshika, Nyaya, and Sankhya, while the latter includes Jainism, Buddhism, and Lokayata. The earliest philosophical teachings in ancient China emerged in the 7th century BC. It is possible to find references to Taoism, as well as Confucian aphorisms in ancient Chinese written sources such as "Book of Songs" and "Spring and Autumn Annals."
