History: The History of Afghanistan

History is a textbook dealing with the discovery, collection, organization and presentation of information about past events. Scientists dealing with history are called historians. In the territory of present-day Afghanistan, there were several small states in the 1st millennium BC. Bactria was the strongest of them. They were under the rule of Achaemenids, Seleucids, Arab caliphate, Ghaznavids, Mongols, Timurids, Baburis, Safavids for many centuries. In 1747, Ahmadshah Durrani established the first independent state of Afghanistan by occupying Khurasan, Seistan, Sindh, Baluchistan, Punjab, Kashmir and Balkh, as well as some areas on the left bank of the Amudarya.
