About the direction
Traffic management is the organization, management and control of the movement of stationary and moving vehicles, including pedestrians, cyclists and all types of vehicles. Its purpose is to ensure the safe, orderly and efficient movement of people and goods, to protect them as much as possible, and to improve the quality of roads and the surrounding local environment.
The specific objectives of traffic management schemes are to: improving traffic flow conditions, reducing traffic congestion (often important for roads where the goals of improving traffic flow efficiency are a priority, i.e., arterial roads and highways); increase the safety of the route or area (based on the analysis of the crash or specific considerations of the community); improving the safety, mobility and accessibility of roads for children, pedestrians and cyclists; beautification of residential areas; improve access to commercial, retail and entertainment venues; increase the productivity and safety of transportation by car (especially important for the transport task, the general purpose of which is to solve economic issues); improving public transport and road use conditions (reflecting that people's movement in public transport is more efficient than in a private car); Providing real-time traffic information to road users in order to solve parking problems.
