About university

About Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan (NUU):

The National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek was founded in 1918 as the People's University of Turkestan in the city of Tashkent, and in 1995 the university was named after Mirzo Ulugbek. In accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 28, 2000, the university was granted the status of a national university and was given its current name. Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan (MUN) is one of the leading scientific and educational institutions of Uzbekistan. The university aims to train highly qualified specialists, conduct scientific research and develop the economy of our country.


University grants:

Grants are available at the university. State grants are allocated to talented students who have obtained high marks in the entrance exams. These grants are awarded for one academic year only, and students admitted on the basis of a contract have the opportunity to study the grant in subsequent academic years.



University Scholarship:

Students studying on the basis of a state grant:

The basic amount of the scholarship is paid in the 1st semester of the first year;

- Starting from the next semester, depending on the results of the previous semester, the scholarship will be awarded and paid in the following order:

- Students with excellent performance in all subjects will be paid with a 20% increase in the basic amount of the scholarship;

- Scholarships will not be awarded to students who have satisfactorily mastered 30% or more of general subjects, i.e. scored less than 71 points. With the exception of orphans and children deprived of parental care and students with group 1 and 2 disabilities;

- All other students receiving education on the basis of a state grant will be paid the basic amount of the scholarship.


Scholarships are awarded and paid to students studying on the basis of a payment contract in the following order:

 - Contract students can study with or without a scholarship;

 - The basic amount of the stipend will be paid to those under the contract, regardless of the mastery rate.

 - The stipend will be assigned and paid after the contract amount has been paid.


Scholarships are paid for students with group I and II disabilities in the following order:

 - Students with group I and II disabilities are assigned and paid a 50% higher stipend than the base amount of the stipend, regardless of whether they study on a grant or a contract;

 - Students who belong to the group of orphans and children deprived of parental care, who are fully supported by the state, are assigned and paid a scholarship in the basic amount of the scholarship.


Entry requirements: Participation in state exams organized by BMB(DTM) according to the direction.



About the dormitory:

There are 10 student residences belonging to the university, and the total number of places in them will be 3600 by 2021. In 2021, additional 1,500 places were created by providing university student accommodation with bunk beds, and the dormitory capacity was increased to 5,130.



International cooperation:

The National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek has a student exchange program with the world's leading state and non-state universities and many other international cooperation memoranda, in which students study abroad in 1 + 3, 2 + 2, 3 + 1 have the opportunity to improve their knowledge and experience.


Activities of the Educational Methodological Center:

  • Developing proposals for the technical equipment of classNameNamerooms and laboratories
  • Providing annual reports and analysis of the activities of faculties and departments
  • Organizing internal and external assessments, preparing for them, and conducting relevant work
  • Ensuring the preparation of the curriculum for the academic year and the development of the annual work schedule for the educational process
  • Ensuring the correct distribution and monitoring of teaching loads based on the curriculum and available resources
  • Utilizing and managing the classNameNameroom resources in the university


Department of Subjects:

Subjects remained the same as last year - 3 mandatory subjects and 2 subjects related to the bachelor's degree program.

All test takers must take the following three mandatory subjects:

- Mother tongue (Uzbek, Russian, Karakalpak, and other languages) - 10 questions;

- Mathematics - 10 questions;

- History of Uzbekistan - 10 questions;

A total of 33 points for 30 questions.

Two subjects related to the bachelor's degree program:

Subject 1: 30 questions x 3.1 points = 93 points

Subject 2: 30 questions x 2.1 points = 63 points

A total of 156 points for 60 questions.

In the 2023/2024 academic year, applicants will be given a total of 90 test questions in 5 subjects. The maximum possible score that can be achieved is 189.
