About the University:

The history of the Tashkent Medical Academy dates back to 1935, when a medical faculty was established in the city of Tashkent on the basis of the University of Central Asia, and it trained highly educated treating doctors, pharmacists, and hygienists. In the 1990s, 2 medical universities were established on the basis of several buildings of the Tashkent Medical Institute: the First Tashkent State Medical Institute and the Second State Medical Institute.

Tashkent Medical Academy on the basis of the First and Second Tashkent State Medical Institutes, which was abolished by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 178 dated July 29, 2005, was established on July 19, 2005 by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "Establishment of the Tashkent Medical Academy" It was established on the basis of Decree No. 3629. Tashkent Medical Academy received the status of a higher education institution based on certificate No. 18 issued by the State Test Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on March 31, 2008.

TTA has 6 faculties, 50 social-humanitarian, medical-biological and clinical departments and a central research laboratory. Clinical departments of TTA are located in the treatment-diagnostic departments of the multidisciplinary clinic of the academy.

There is an excellent museum of medical history under TTA, where anyone can get acquainted with the history, modern state and prospects of medicine in the Republic of Uzbekistan. About 1,000 teachers work in TTA departments, 190 of them are doctors of science, more than 600 are candidates of science, academicians, leading members of foreign academies, scientists, distinguished doctors and educational workers.

University grants:

Grants are available at the university. State grants are allocated to talented students who have obtained high marks in the entrance exams. These grants are awarded for one academic year only, and students admitted on the basis of a contract have the opportunity to study the grant in subsequent academic years.

University Scholarship:

Students studying on the basis of a state grant:

The basic amount of the scholarship is paid in the 1st semester of the first year;

- Starting from the next semester, depending on the results of the previous semester, the scholarship will be awarded and paid in the following order:

- Students with excellent performance in all subjects will be paid with a 20% increase in the basic amount of the scholarship;

- Scholarships will not be awarded to students who satisfactorily mastered 30% or more of their general subjects, i.e. scored less than 71 points. With the exception of orphans and children deprived of parental care and students with group 1 and 2 disabilities;

- All other students receiving education on the basis of a state grant will be paid the basic amount of the scholarship.

Scholarships are awarded and paid to students studying on the basis of a payment contract in the following order:

 - Contract students can study with or without a scholarship;

 - The basic amount of the stipend will be paid to those under the contract, regardless of the mastery rate.

 - The stipend will be assigned and paid after the contract amount has been paid.

Scholarships are paid for students with group I and II disabilities in the following order:

 - Students with group I and II disabilities are assigned and paid a 50% higher stipend than the base amount of the stipend, regardless of whether they study on a grant or a contract;

 - Students who belong to the group of orphans and children deprived of parental care, who are fully supported by the state, are assigned and paid a scholarship in the basic amount of the scholarship.

Entry requirements: Participation in state exams organized by BMB(DTM).

University Dormitory: There is a hostel in the university. TTJ of Tashkent Medical Academy has 7 student residences with a total of 3300 places, currently 2784 students live there. The student accommodation is managed by the administration of TTA, TTJ directorate on the basis of "Student accommodation" Regulation, TK plan.
