“Abdulla Oripov and Qalandar Abdurahmonov Research Center” — A Historic Opening in Shahrisabz
On May 26, 2026, the doors of not just a new center, but a new home for science, enlightenment, and national spirit were opened at the Shahrisabz State Pedagogical Institute.

On this remarkable day, Shahrisabz — the cultural capital of Uzbekistan — witnessed yet another historic moment. Named after the People's Poet Abdulla Oripov and Academician Qalandar Abdurahmonov, the center unites the legacy of two great figures: one, a pinnacle of poetry and spirituality; the other, a pillar of science and human capital development.
The ceremonial event brought together government officials, academics, members of the poet’s family, and hundreds of students. A symbolic ribbon was cut, and rare scientific and literary works were donated to the center’s collection. Students recited Oripov’s poems with heartfelt passion, and his verses seemed to resonate throughout the hall with renewed meaning.

This center is more than just a building. It is destined to become a living source of scientific inquiry, creative thinking, and national pride for the younger generation. In this space, where science and art come together, love for the Motherland, devotion to books, and enthusiasm for research will flourish once again in young hearts.
Shahrisabz — the homeland of Amir Temur — has embraced yet another great legacy.
