Acharya University is an integral part of the IT cluster in Karakul, established under the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This project is one of the large-scale initiatives aimed at developing the country.
Acharya University traces its roots to India’s “Silicon Valley” — the city of Bangalore — and has a rich legacy of over 30 years.
The university is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Khokimiyat of Bukhara Region, and Acharya institutions in India.
The main focus of the university is higher education in information technology, including areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, cybersecurity, and other specialties.
Acharya University aims to create in Uzbekistan a model of high-quality, fair, and accessible education, which will not only be among the best in the world but also the best for the world.
