British Management University in Tashkent

BMU was established in 2020 by the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan as part of the strategy to diversify higher education. The mission of BMU is to become a leading management university in Central Asia, preparing innovative leaders and creating a positive social impact. BMU admitted its first students in 2020 and has since developed into a dynamic academic community. In 2023, the university moved to a modern campus, providing high-quality education and an active student life. Currently, BMU serves nearly 1,500 students in undergraduate and graduate programs.

BMU offers internationally recognized degrees approved by partner institutions such as the University of Reading and Queen Margaret University in the United Kingdom. The university continues strategic partnerships with professional organizations like ACCA, providing students with real international education opportunities.

STUDENT DORMITORY

The British Management University student dormitory covers approximately 6,500 square meters and is designed to accommodate 376 students in a beautiful multi-story building. The dormitory has 136 rooms, most of which are triple rooms, with a few single rooms reserved for graduate students. Each room is equipped with three fully furnished beds, a wardrobe, a study area, and a private bathroom with a shower.

Each floor has 17 rooms: 15 triple rooms and 2 single rooms, accommodating up to 47 students on the top floor. Male and female students live on separate floors to ensure privacy and comfort.

The student dormitory at BMU is more than just a place to sleep — it is a supportive community that aids in your academic, social, and personal development.


The dormitory offers a wide range of student-focused amenities:

  • Comfortable lounges and relaxation areas on the first floor
  • Modern co-working zones
  • Laundry room, operating on a schedule
  • High-speed Wi-Fi 24/7
  • Three nutritious meals per day


Move-in begins 2–3 days before the start of the academic year. Minors must be accompanied by a parent; if this is not possible, a notarized consent from another guardian is required to assist with registration.


A dormitory warden ensures that dorm life maintains a safe and respectful environment in accordance with security and community standards.

  • Curfew: Students must return by 10:30 PM; doors close at 11:00 PM
  • Monthly fee: 2.5 million UZS for undergraduate students
  • Community: Male and female students live on separate floors

All residents are expected to demonstrate responsibility and mutual respect, making the dorm a peaceful and safe home.


At British Management University, we believe that proper nutrition is essential for students’ well-being and performance. Meals are provided three times a day, seven days a week, ensuring a balance of taste, health, and variety.

Our spacious dining hall accommodates up to 360 students, providing a warm and comfortable environment for dining, relaxation, and peer interaction.

PROGRAMS


1. FOUNDATION

The Foundation Program at British Management University is designed to provide students with a solid academic foundation and prepare them for success in their chosen field. Over the course of one year, students study a range of subjects important for their personal and professional development.

Note 1: Depending on their specialization, students can choose one of the subjects in the second semester of Foundation: Introduction to IT for Business II or Global Issues.

Note 2: Graduates who successfully complete the Foundation year may continue their studies in one of the undergraduate programs at British Management University.

Requirements and Documents

Applicants must provide:

  • Proof of identity: passport, ID card, or birth certificate
  • Digital photo: 3 × 4 cm, color, on a plain light background
  • Copies of previous education documents and transcripts: International Foundation certificate and transcript, International Baccalaureate certificate and transcript, university transcripts, A-level certificates and transcripts, or alternative documents confirming 12 years of education
  • Proof of English language proficiency: IELTS 5.5 or equivalent (APTIS ESOL Advanced B2 or higher)


2. Undergraduate Program

British Management University (BMU) offers undergraduate programs aimed at preparing highly skilled professionals in business, finance, and management, in demand both nationally and internationally.

Our faculty consists of experienced local academics and international experts, creating a rich academic environment where regional knowledge combines with a global perspective. Through a combination of academic rigor, practical approaches, and attention to local context, our programs develop analytical thinking, creativity, and leadership skills, preparing graduates for success in a fast-changing and interconnected world.

BMU upholds the highest standards of teaching and learning, following best practices of international universities and applying strict quality assurance processes aligned with the UK higher education system. This approach is reinforced by international collaborations, providing students and graduates with broad academic and professional opportunities. Some programs are accredited by Queen Margaret University (QMU), Edinburgh, while others, such as BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance, have professional accreditation from ACCA.

BMU actively works to strengthen existing partnerships and establish new links with leading global universities and professional organizations. These efforts integrate expanded international opportunities and professional qualifications into programs, giving BMU graduates the knowledge, experience, and networks that set them apart globally.

Requirements and Documents

General Requirements:

Applicants must have one of the following:

  • Successful completion of an accredited International Foundation program
  • Successful completion of the first year of undergraduate studies at a recognized university in Uzbekistan or abroad
  • Any other equivalent qualification that allows entry to undergraduate studies in the UK (e.g., International Baccalaureate)

English Language Requirements:

Applicants must have one of the following:

  • IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (APTIS ESOL Advanced C1)
  • Completion of secondary education in English with at least a C grade in GCSE English or equivalent
  • Successful completion of an appropriate International Foundation program including an Academic English module

Mathematics Requirements:

Applicants must have:

  • Successful completion of Mathematics at GCSE level or equivalent
  • Additionally, one of the following:
  • Completion of Quantitative Methods I module in BMU Foundation or equivalent
  • Successful passing of BMU Mathematics entrance exam

Direct Entry (2nd Year Admission):

Allows qualified students to skip the Foundation year and start directly in the undergraduate program.

Requirements:

  • Completion of at least 12 years of international secondary education or successful completion of the 1st year at another recognized university
  • IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (APTIS ESOL Advanced C1 or higher) and successful passing of BMU Mathematics entrance exam
  • Previous academic results are evaluated individually based on official transcripts

3. Master’s Program

British Management University (BMU) offers Master’s programs with dual MSc (Master of Science) degrees, dual-qualification MBA programs, and preparatory courses for professional certification exams.

The MSc degree offered at BMU is awarded jointly by Queen Margaret University (QMU, UK) and British Management University (BMU). Students can choose between two tracks: International Management or Accounting and Finance. These dual MSc programs are designed for bachelor’s graduates seeking to deepen their knowledge and for those aiming for international professional development, including part-time study options.

The dual-qualification MBA (Master of Business Administration) program offered by BMU is awarded jointly with BMU and Project Management Institute (PMI®) or Microsoft® (upon successful completion of relevant certification exams). Students may choose an MBA in Project Management or MBA in Business Analytics depending on their work experience, professional, and educational background. These programs are designed for managers and specialists with experience in project management, data analysis, or other professional fields.

The MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and Educational Leadership is a recognized Master’s program providing deep knowledge in TESOL, curriculum design and assessment, and educational leadership practices. This program is highly valued by employers in regions with rapidly developing educational systems.

Students enrolled in the MA TESOL and Educational Leadership program may obtain Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) certification provided by Cambridge Assessment English, part of the University of Cambridge. Cambridge Assessment English is a leading organization offering English language exams and qualifications for learners and teachers worldwide.

Admission Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree with honours or equivalent in a relevant field from BMU or another reputable university
  • Academic IELTS 6.5 or higher (no component below 5.5). Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree completed in English within the last five years or equivalent (APTIS ESOL Advanced C1)
  • Successful interview with members of the MSc program team 

Grants

🎓 State Grant

  • Covers: 100% of tuition fees for 4 years.
  • Entry Level: 1st year.
  • Program Scope: Any field (according to state allocation).
  • Quota: Determined annually by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education.

Key Academic Requirements: Based on results of the State Testing Center (STC) exams.


🎓 BMU Social Grant

  • Covers: 100% of tuition fees for 4 years.

  • Covers: 100% of tuition fees for 4 years.

  • Program Scope: BSc Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • Quota: Only up to 10 applicants.
