About the University:
Fergana State University was established in 1930 as Fergana State Pedagogical Institute. Fergana State Pedagogical Institute is considered one of the largest and most prestigious higher educational institutions not only in the Fergana Valley, but also in Uzbekistan. On March 1, 1991, a decision was made to establish a new higher educational institution - a university on the basis of the Pedagogical Institute in the city of Fergana. Thus, on the eve of the declaration of independence, the first university in the valley and the fourth in the republic - Fergana State University - was established. Currently, the university has 13 faculties, 48 departments, 60 undergraduate courses and 34 master's degrees are being trained. The total number of professors and teachers is 997, 61 are doctors of science, 294 are candidates of science (PhD), associate professors, and the scientific potential is 36%. The total number of students is 31,840, of which 37 are foreign students. The number of graduate students is 1538. Over the past 2 years, 5 departments, 7 bachelor's education courses, 4 master's specialties have been newly established. Starting from the 2023-2024 academic year, a joint department (Uzbekistan-China Joint Department of Archeology) is being established in cooperation with the Northwestern University of the People's Republic of China and the Archaeological Research University of Loyang. In 2022 and 2023, university professors and teachers published 61 textbooks, 117 training manuals, 224 teaching-methodical instructions, 300 monographs and 157 author's certificates and 4 inventions patents have been obtained. University professors won 89 projects in grants announced by republican and foreign organizations. In 2022, 28 professors and 6 students were awarded with State awards.
University admission requirements:
Admission to educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan is carried out according to the rating system of points collected according to the results of entrance exams (tests, professional (creative) exam, written exam) by the State Commission.
Scholarships:
The institute has state grants. Grants are available at the university. State grants are allocated to talented students who have obtained high marks in the entrance exams. These grants are awarded for one academic year only, and students admitted on the basis of a contract have the opportunity to study the grant in subsequent academic years.
Requirements for admission of foreign citizens to the university:
Fergana State University accepts foreign citizens on the basis of an interview based on the Decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 15, 2022 No. PQ-279 does. Required documents for admission:
- Passport
- Document of the last completed educational institution (diploma or certificate)
- If there is a 3:4 picture
- Residence certificate
University Scholarship:
Students studying on the basis of a state grant:
The basic amount of the scholarship is paid in the 1st semester of the first year;
- Starting from the next semester, depending on the results of the previous semester, the scholarship will be awarded and paid in the following order:
- Students with excellent performance in all subjects will be paid with a 20% increase in the basic amount of the scholarship;
- Scholarships will not be awarded to students who satisfactorily mastered 30% or more of their general subjects, i.e. scored less than 71 points. With the exception of orphans and children deprived of parental care and students with group 1 and 2 disabilities;
- All other students receiving education on the basis of a state grant will be paid the basic amount of the scholarship.
Scholarships are awarded and paid to students studying on the basis of a payment contract in the following order:
- Contract students can study with or without a scholarship;
- The basic amount of the stipend will be paid to those under the contract, regardless of the mastery rate.
- The stipend will be assigned and paid after the contract amount has been paid.
Scholarships are paid for students with group I and II disabilities in the following order:
- Students with group I and II disabilities are assigned and paid a stipend 50% higher than the base amount of the scholarship, regardless of whether they study on a grant or contract;
- Students who belong to the group of orphans and children deprived of parental care, who are fully supported by the state, are assigned and paid a scholarship in the basic amount of the scholarship.
University dormitory:
Currently, Fergana State University has 6 student residences. Of these, 4-TTJ is currently being repaired. Also, there are 1206 places in 5 student residences, which are distributed as follows: 1st TTJ - 251, 2nd TTJ - 216, 3rd TTJ - 201, 5th TTJ - 256, 6th TTJ - There are 273 seats available. As of November 20, 2017, 1,206 students were given residence permits, bilateral contracts were concluded with them, and payments were made. In order to create healthy competition between student residences, a rating system was introduced between student residences. According to this rating system, the activities of the head of the student residence, educators and the Student Council were evaluated. According to the rating system, the 2nd TTJ was recognized as the winner and awarded with a special statuette for timely completion of the instructions and tasks given in September. A weekly rating system was introduced to monitor the duty of professors and teachers in student residences and evaluate their performance during their duty. According to it, the teacher on duty will be monitored weekly at the faculty and department level, and rating points will be assigned.
International cooperation:
In order to increase the university's rating, cooperation agreements have been signed with institutions with a high international rating. In particular, a number of agreements were signed between the Fergana State University and prestigious universities of this partner country during the work of the rectors' forum of higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Fergana State University, which is reforming its activities based on innovative approaches, is also introducing many innovations in the international system. In particular, the opening ceremony of the International Cooperation and Tourism Center was held today at Fergana State University with the participation of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kungirotboy Sharipov. The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kungirotboy Sharipov, while getting to know the working process of the center, Fergana State University, which has a high reputation in the world QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) and Great Britain "Times Higher Education" international rankings interested in the indicators. Now this new center aims to ensure cooperation between universities and universities of high prestige in the international arena, to implement the most effective foreign educational services for higher education, to provide practical and theoretical assistance in increasing the tourism potential and attractiveness of the region, international academic performs important tasks in areas such as carrying out exchanges.
