From Clinic to Educational Institution
In 2018, the multi-specialty private clinic Impuls was established in Norin district, Namangan region. The main goal of its foundation was to provide patients with high-quality and modern medical care.
However, shortly after, the global COVID-19 pandemic became a serious challenge for all healthcare systems. Although the clinic’s doctors were eager to help patients during the pandemic, the lack of resources and shortage of qualified personnel made this process difficult.
The challenges experienced during the pandemic revealed that the shortage of qualified doctors is a systemic issue for all medical institutions. Consequently, the leadership of Impuls Clinic concluded that training qualified medical professionals is essential for the sustainable development of healthcare in the future.
Idea to Establish the Institute
In 2019, to address the shortage of doctors, the idea of opening a medical institute was proposed. This initiative involved studying the advanced educational systems worldwide, including experiences in medical education and healthcare from Europe, Asia, and America.
Based on the findings, it was decided to design an educational system aligned with USMLE standards (United States Medical Licensing Examination). Qualified specialists were recruited, and extensive preparatory work began.
Official Opening of the Institute
After several years of effort, in 2022, on the basis of license №047559 issued by the State Inspectorate for Quality Control of Education under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the private higher education institution — Impuls Medical Institute — officially opened in Namangan region.
The institute started as the first and only private medical university in the region.
Impuls Medical Institute implemented a modern medical education system aimed at providing students with both deep theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Currently, the institute has branches in Namangan and Chirchiq, where about 2,000 students study in three fields: General Medicine, Dentistry, and Pediatrics. The education system focuses on training highly qualified professionals and is being continuously aligned with international standards.
Student Dormitory (Impuls Medical Institute, Chirchiq Branch)
At present, the student dormitory of the Chirchiq branch is under construction. Students temporarily reside in the dormitory of the Uzbek State Institute of Physical Culture.
The primary governing document is the “Student Dormitory Regulations”, developed according to the normative acts of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education.
The dormitory operates according to the university’s internal rules and the Student Council’s work plan. Renovation and construction work is ongoing. All rooms are equipped with modern furniture and essential facilities.
Sanitary conditions are good, and fire safety regulations are observed.
Each floor has a kitchen, toilet, washroom, and shower, and televisions are installed.
Students residing in the dormitory are temporarily registered. To do this, they submit an application to the Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs. After approval, the registrar ensures temporary registration.
For student self-governance, a Student Council operates. Meetings address dormitory conditions, discipline, duty schedules, and preparation for various events. Each floor has a floor leader.
Faculty deans, deputy deans for youth work, professors, and mentors participate in educational and upbringing activities.
Sports clubs are organized for students’ leisure. Language courses, computer literacy, cooking, nursing, and arts clubs are also available.
