About university

About the institute:

The Kokan branch is the first and currently the only branch of the Tashkent State Technical University in the Fergana Valley. It trains specialists in the fields of engineering, geology, economics, and technology. It was established on the basis of the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 754 of September 22, 2018 "On the establishment of the Kokan branch of the Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov". Currently, two faculties are operating under the Kokan branch: "Engineering" faculty and "Energy" faculty. The number of professors and teachers has reached 64, consisting of associate professors, senior teachers, and assistant teachers. There are 13 bachelor's and 2 master's courses in total, and 1519 students are currently studying in them.

The branch defines the following as its main tasks:

 - ensuring the training of highly qualified personnel at the level of international standards in the areas of industrial production, engineering works and production technologies, in particular, electronics and instrument building, material science and technology of new materials, technological machines; and equipment, electronic equipment production technologies;

 - implementation of scientific and practical research and development aimed at solving the scientific and technical tasks of the development of economic sectors, testing and introducing advanced foreign technologies;

 - development of scientific-methodical literature on relevant engineering-technical and production bachelor's education courses and master's specialties, taking into account the proposals of personnel buyers and the experience of educational institutions of foreign countries;

 - increasing the scientific and pedagogical potential of the branch by regularly sending promising young graduates to republican and foreign higher education institutions and scientific centers for master's and doctoral studies.


Admission requirements: Participation in state exams organized by BMB(DTM). Documents required by the Knowledge and Skills Assessment Agency:

For graduates of previous years:

 - passport;

 - diploma;

 - language proficiency certificate; (if applicable);

 - if there is a privilege, documents confirming the privilege.

 - pay the payment amount;

For current year graduates:

 - passport;

 - graduation certificate (received electronically from the base by recipients).

To Technikum graduates: At the Kokan branch of the Islam Karimov Tashkent State Technical University, Technikum graduates are admitted to the higher educational institution without exams, through an individual interview.


To accept foreign applicants:

The following documents must be included in the documents for admission to the undergraduate course of the Kokan branch of the Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov:

 - Certificate of graduation from school or college, lyceum;

 - Copy of identity document/passport;

Step 2: Candidates will be invited for an online interview.

 - After completing these steps, all results will be sent by email.

Institute grants:

Grants are available at the institute. State grants are allocated to talented students who have obtained high marks in the entrance exams. These grants are awarded for one academic year only, and students admitted on the basis of a contract have the opportunity to study the grant in subsequent academic years.


Institute scholarship:

Students studying on the basis of a state grant:

The basic amount of the scholarship is paid in the 1st semester of the first year;

- Starting from the next semester, depending on the results of the previous semester, the scholarship will be awarded and paid in the following order:

- Students with excellent performance in all subjects will be paid with a 20% increase in the basic amount of the scholarship;

- Students who satisfactorily mastered 30% or more of general subjects, i.e. scored less than 71 points, will not be awarded a scholarship. With the exception of orphans and children deprived of parental care and students with group 1 and 2 disabilities;

- All other students receiving education on the basis of a state grant will be paid the basic amount of the scholarship.


Scholarships are awarded and paid to students studying on the basis of a payment contract in the following order:

 - Contract students can study with or without a scholarship;

 - The basic amount of the stipend will be paid to those under the contract, regardless of the mastery rate.

 - The stipend will be assigned and paid after the contract amount has been paid.


Scholarships are paid for students with group I and II disabilities in the following order:

 - Students with group I and II disabilities are assigned and paid a stipend 50% higher than the base amount of the stipend, regardless of whether they study on a grant or a contract;

 - Students who belong to the group of orphans and children deprived of parental care, who are fully supported by the state, are assigned and paid a scholarship in the basic amount of the scholarship.


The following documents are required from students recommended for studentship:

 - application to the head of the higher education institution;

 - copy of identity document (passport) - 5 pieces;

 - the original document confirming the education (diploma or attestation);

 - IELTS certificate (if available);

 - 3.5×4.5 size photo (on a white background) - 12 pieces;

 - folder for papers;

 - paper envelope;

 - applicant's permit;

 - answer sheet;

 - STIR (INN)

 - Letter of recommendation for military service (legota - if available)
