About the University
Qoraqalpog State University, established in 1976 on the basis of the Shevchenko Qoraqalpog State Pedagogical Institute, was initially named Nukus State University. Later, by the decree No. 274 of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Qoraqalpogistan on January 15, 1992, the university was renamed as Qoraqalpog State University in Berdaq.
