Samarqand State Medical University is a state educational institution located in the city of Samarqand in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The university was established in 1930. This university is considered one of the largest medical educational institutions in Uzbekistan. During its establishment, the university operated under the name of Samarqand State Medical Institute and later in 1990, it was renamed as "Samarqand State Medical University" by incorporating the word "university" into its name.
