The Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry was established in 1932. In the early years, the institute had two faculties: "Cotton First Processing" and "Mechanical Technology," and produced graduate specialists in four areas: cotton first processing, weaving, spinning, and silk technology. In the academic year of 1932-1933, the institute initially admitted 125 students.
